China - Integrated Economic Development of Small Towns Project : environmental assessment (Vol. 2) : Gansu Pest Management Plan (PMP) (Chinês)

The objective of the Integrated Economic Development of Small Towns Project for China is to promote sustainable economic development in selected towns of Gansu, Hunan and Guangdong provinces, creating conditions for increased employment, income generation and improved quality of life, by supporting public infrastructure development and strengthening the capacity of related institutions. Negative impacts include: waste water, solid wastes, noise pollution, waste gas, and sludge. Mitigation measures include: 1) oil leaked shall be recycled with buckets, poured into waste oil tanks after being collected with special buckets and hand over waste oil reclamation depot, and waste oil dropped on the earth shall be cleaned with cotton; 2) domestic waste shall be packed with bags, separately collected and be collective cleaned away by the environmental protection department for further disposal; 3) during construction, the operation time of construction equipment shall be properly arranged so as to avoid that lots of equipment with high noise may operated at the same time or at night; 4) safety management shall be conducted; 5) low-noise type of equipment shall be selected; and 6) sludge treatment shall be carry out in a minimization, stabilization and harmless manner, and sludge treatment facilities shall be planned constructed and put into operation at the same time with wastewater disposal facilities.
