The development objective of the Informal Settlements Improvement Project for Kenya is to improve living conditions in informal settlements in selected urban centers in selected counties in Kenya. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) cash compensation at replacement cost without depreciation for partial loss but residual viable; (2) one-month average income in income lost due to shifting of business to a new location, and re-establishing; and (3) lump sum maintenance allowance equivalent to one month of minimum wages calculated as an average of the last 3 months wages.
