Documents & Reports

The Simple Search runs through the following metadata attributes of the document: country, topic, sector, subsector, document type, document date, author, title, project ID (format = P012345), keywords, and abstract. You can further narrow your search results by refining by date, document type, country, language, and disclosure status. The Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) can be used in Simple Search. The default operator is AND with multiple terms. 

The Advanced Search page allows you to narrow your search based on specific criteria. You can use picklists for topic, document type, language, lending instrument and others to build your search query. There are Boolean search options for searching by keyword, author, and document title.  

All reports in the D&R site are for public use. Many of the reports are only released to the public after passing a certain milestone, such as Board approval for projects. In such cases the papers are technically internal until the approval conditions are met. Because the document is then released in its original state, the cover may still contain the caveat “For Official Use Only.” The “Public Disclosure Authorized” stamp on the left margin of the cover page indicates that all proper procedures under the Access to Information Policy have been followed. 

The D&R site includes (or provides) basic information about reports that meet public eligibility criteria but have not been made public yet. Upon request, an internal review in accordance with the Access to Information Policy will be conducted to see if these  documents can then become public. “Not Disclosed” refers to the reports that have been reviewed but not disclosed.  

Simultaneously disclosed documents are made publicly available before the Board has considered them. Country Partnership Strategies, Project Appraisal Documents, and Program Documents may be publicly available before the Board has considered them provided the client has given its written consent.
